Here we are, a traditional looking reindeer-with-decorations-in-its-antlers. Complete with a non-specific holiday greeting!
Now, I’m going to have a bath, bake some gingerbread and then… code my mobile website for the rest of Christmas Eve. ^_^
Had a dream last night that I’d just remembered I was halfway through my final year of uni and all I’d been working on for the past few weeks were Christmas doodles and I still had two and a half projects to hand in by spring…
Anyway, this ‘uns not a totally original concept (although I came up with it aw by mysewf I had a search and noticed it’s a pretty popular Christmas themed idea for cartoonists) but I like it so I’m gonna do a bigger and better reindeer-with-decorated-antlers to follow so ner.
Did you know that robin redbreasts don’t actually have red breasts? I didn’t until I had to study reference photos and put colour to one, they’re definitely orange. Orange! My whole life is a lie! I had to stick some red highlights in there just to make myself feel better!
I’ve bought and wrapped all my presents now, even posted the ones that need to reach people I won’t be seeing over the holidays. Now I can just sit back and wait for the festivities to roll around…
It’s December! That means this is allowed now, right?
So, the Artsadmin Youth Board (that’s me and some other cool people) are having a little Christmas party on the 6th of December. If you’re an artist between the ages of 16 and 25 and are up for some food, drinks and socialising in Whitechapel in a few weeks, RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by the 30th of November.
It’s free to come but please bring some food for the spread!
And invite any of your young artist friends, as well. Spread the word!
In case you didn’t check it out yesterday, here’s my illustration that went up for the 10th instalment of the 26 Stories of Christmas (« read the story I illustrated here). The project has got a lot of attention, even being featured in Creative Review, so that’s all pretty exciting!
Thought I’d show you this poster I made in response to a brief set by new creative studio BLOC+BLUR, they’re using the entries to determine who they want helping out on their team!
Also, keep your eyes peeled for my entry on http://26storiesofchristmas.com/ on the 10th of December (and check out the ones put up so far).
