So, for final year we have to do four art projects and at least one has to be self initiated (not from a brief written by our tutors). For this project I’m working with an MA Graphic Branding and Identity student on producing a series of illustrated stories/comic books about the effects of tourism and volunteering abroad on locals. This is an image I did of a Tanzanian child suffering from burns, a common casualty of open fires in cramped homes. Currently we’re trying to figure out the best stories to use and the best way to approach the project.
